What to Expect

This safari covers three distinct sectors of South Luangwa — central floodplains, remote south, and wildlife-rich north — giving guests a genuine full-park experience rather than a single-lodge stay.

Wildlife-wise, expect high predator activity, large herds, and classic Luangwa river scenery. South Luangwa is where the modern walking safari was pioneered, and that shows in the activity mix — game drives, night drives, walking safaris, wildlife hides, and a sleep-out option at Three Rivers Camp.

Eight nights across three camps is a comfortable pace, domestic flights are included, and the lodge styles shift meaningfully between stops. Best suited for wildlife-focused, photographic, and walking safari guests. Worth noting that the southern camp alternates between Island Bush Camp and Three Rivers depending on availability, so that sector’s experience can vary.
